Applications are invited to apply for the University of Agder Scholarships 2027 in Norway. International applicants are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Students enrolled in master’s programs at the University of Agder (UiA) who are writing a thesis for submission during the 2026–2027 academic year are eligible. This program is available to all fields of study, unlike many research grants that are restricted to certain disciplines, as long as students include issues of inclusion, diversity, or equality in their research. This grant reflects a growing trend among European universities to encourage students to integrate societal challenges into academic research regardless of disciplinary boundaries.
The University of Agder in Norway has started applications for a limited financing program that offers five awards worth NOK 15,000 each to master’s students who want to transform their dissertation into something that has an academic influence outside of the classroom. In addition to further academic support through writing seminars and mentorship possibilities, the award offers a NOK 15,000 research stipend. If equality-related viewpoints are a significant component of their thesis analysis, students from any academic field are eligible to apply.
The University of Agder’s Center for Gender and Equality is in charge of managing the funding. The center has taken a broad approach, allowing students from almost any academic subject to participate, rather than limiting candidates to the social sciences or gender studies. The organizers of the program assert that equality need not be the main focus of a dissertation. Nonetheless, it needs to be an important analytical viewpoint in the study. This strategy makes it possible for students to include diversity and inclusion aspects into their academic work in a variety of fields, including education, health sciences, engineering, business, law, humanities, and technology. In keeping with the university’s goal to promote locally relevant research while producing broader social insights, projects related to the Agder region will be given special consideration.
