Ethiopian Airlines Group reported $4.4 billion in revenue during the first six months of the 2025/26 fiscal year, surpassing its internal target by 2 percent and marking a 14 percent year-on-year increase, underscoring the carrier’s continued expansion and resilience amid a volatile global aviation market.
Chief Executive Officer Mesfin Tassew attributed the strong performance to network growth and service expansion, noting that the airline launched three new international destinations during the review period while scaling up frequencies across key long-haul and regional routes.
The group has also accelerated capacity growth, inducting seven new aircraft, including the wide-body Airbus A350-1000, bringing its total fleet to 146 aircraft. Over the six-month period, Ethiopian Airlines carried 10.6 million passengers and transported 451,000 tonnes of cargo, representing an 11 percent increase in customer volumes compared with the same period last year.
