University of Vienna Andreas Tietze Memorial Fellowship 2027 in Austria is a great short-term research opportunity for advanced doctoral researchers and early-career scholars in Turkish Studies. The fellowship is intended for researchers interested in doing a research stay in Vienna and carrying out an original project on Turkish Studies. Furthermore, the University of Vienna offers a €1,500 monthly scholarship for doctorates and for postdoctoral/early-stage researchers.
In addition, the fellowship offers the researchers a workspace, internet access and the University Library is fully available to be used during the period of the fellowship. The fellowship duration is 1-3 months, the starting date of the fellowship is 1 March, 1 May, 1 September or 1 November 2027. About the Andreas Tietze Memorial Fellowship
This fellowship is named in honour of the late Andreas Tietze, a highly respected Austrian Turcologist, who was born in Frankfurt/Oder in 1916 and passed away on October 30, 1991 in Vienna. Tietze contributed significantly to Turkish Studies in various areas including lexicology, etymology, history and culture. Thus, the fellowship is a continuation of his academic tradition and provides opportunity to promising researchers on Turkish Studies.
Projects that would ask for a research stay in Vienna or are suitable for complementing the research interests of the department are especially welcome for the 2027 fellowship. These are among the areas encompassed by these, such as environmental history, history of technology, digital humanities, consumption history, history of tourism, cultural heritage.
